Getting started is simple. Appointments can be made by phone, through our online booking form, or directly via the NIMS Connect portal for organisations that are set up with us.
Our service can also work alongside your existing early intervention programs or third-party triage services. We act as your clinical partner for ongoing case management and patient care.
We aim to offer same-day bookings for new injuries so that diagnosis and treatment can begin as soon as possible. During the initial consultation, our doctors complete a thorough assessment, identify any functional considerations, and issue a Certificate of Capacity, whether for early intervention or lodging a claim.
All documentation is made available promptly following the consultation. Employers, insurers, and rehabilitation providers can access records through NIMS Connect, and workers receive their documents securely via email.
We set clear, job-aligned recovery goals and provide capacity guidance through Certificates of Capacity or Fitness for Duty certificates. The focus is always on what the worker can do safely, with practical recommendations that align with real workplace roles.
Through NIMS Connect, employers, return-to-work coordinators, and others involved in the worker’s care can monitor case progress and access the information they need, when they need it.
All our decisions are based on functional capacity to ensure appropriate care and support meaningful workplace participation wherever possible.
When additional support is needed, we coordinate care with our in-house psychologists and our network of trusted allied health partners, including physiotherapy providers. Referrals are arranged promptly and aligned with each employer’s preferred pathway or through our established partnerships.
For more complex cases, our doctors can convene multidisciplinary case conferences and liaise directly with return-to-work coordinators or injury managers to keep everyone aligned. All activity remains visible and documented within NIMS Connect for stakeholders involved in care.
This coordinated approach helps facilitate recovery at work and reduces the risk of long-term claims or impairment.
Recovery is not a single appointment. We schedule targeted, practical reviews to track progress against the initial injury baseline and monitor improvements over time.
As function improves, restrictions are updated so that recovery stays progressive and workplace participation remains safe and sustainable.
Our team assesses suitability for telehealth and conducts a brief risk screen to confirm the right setting for care. Telehealth works well for many workplace injuries, but we always prioritise what is clinically appropriate.
If at any point in-person treatment is required, we arrange a comprehensive handover to a local GP, appropriate medical professional, or hospital. This ensures continuity of care and ongoing coordination within the NIMS Health framework.
Our involvement continues until the worker returns to pre-injury duties, the injury claim is formally closed, or we are discharged by the injured worker. We stay with you through the entire process.
Upon final consultation, we issue a Final Certificate of Capacity summarising outcomes, any ongoing considerations, and recommended follow-up where relevant.
